We have all made it to 2017 and we are grateful to God for bringing us to the beginning of 2017. 2016 was a very challenging year for most of us, but through it, all God saw us through and we are here in 2017, giving praise and worship to Him for life, family, and friends….
“In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].” John 1:4-5 AMP
In Jesus Christ was Life and His Life was our Light. Our Light shines in darkness and darkness did not understand it. Our Light left darkness confused, it overpowered darkness and drove it away. Darkness had no power over our Light and so everywhere we appeared, Light had to prevail over darkness. As we continued to meditate on these scriptures we will begin to understand how powerful God created us to be. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 2:16 “To the one we are an aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life…” Here Paul was talking about our fragrance as children of God. Our fragrance is an aroma of life to the children of Light and a fragrance of death to the children of darkness. Darkness has to flee when the children of Light appear; our Light makes them uncomfortable.
As we continued to meditate on these scriptures we should realised that sickness, poverty, evil, and any negative thing is darkness, and so should begin to dance because we now understand and know why all these things cannot be our portion or the portion of our families. It is not because my Pastor says so or because it is what we say as Christians, it is because our Bible says so.
As we begin this New Year, what is ABBA Father saying to you? What has He impressed on your mind? I am holding on to my Word and running with it this whole year.
IBERU KO SI FUN MI MO NI JESU (I HAVE NO FEAR BECAUSE I HAVE JESUS)
“May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you peace.”
