Exodus 14:15New International Version (NIV)
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.
Life is full of ups and downs. Too many times, things that we never bargained for might change the cause of our lives, sometimes positive and unfortunately negative at times. The problem usually is not when things change positively or favourably the problem is when they change negatively.
Lives are hardly destroyed and a dream aborted when one gets promoted or is given a Scholarship abroad unexpectedly. Rather, the death of a spouse, or divorce with all its negative repercussions can cause a person to be discouraged, depressed or send any man/woman to an early grave. These usually are the times when questions like: “why me? Why did God allow this? How can I still forge ahead?” etc bombard any man’s heart.
But like the children of Israel in the passage above, when they were forced to go forward, with the Red sea in front and the merciless Egyptians behind, God is telling you my brother “go forward”. The question in all our minds will be, “go forward to where”? The Lord is saying “go forward and cross your red sea”. In someone’s case the Red sea may be go forward and write that book, to another yours is go forward and remarry, and yet to another it might be go forward by saying no to that ungodly relationship.
Whatever be your Red sea, in Jesus name you will cross it, because the other option is to remain in the same position of despondency and stagnation and be killed (spirit, soul or body) by the advancing Pharaoh and his army.
Bible: in Samuel 30 Vs 6 says “But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God”. This happened after the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and had taken everything David could call his, wives, children, property etc but what did he do? David went forward and with God’s help, He repossessed everything plus extra that the enemy thought had been stolen from him. Someone needs to go forward by repossessing his wife and children. You perhaps need to pocket your ego and think generationally. Think of God’s longtime agenda for you and yours. Like David, you will recover the “spoils” in Jesus name.
In 2 Kings 7 Vs 3 the four lepers said “Why are we sitting here until we die?” In this story (in 2Kings Chapter 7) the lepers went forward in faith that became not only miracle for the four of them, but became a breakthrough for a whole nation and a confirmation of the Word of God through His prophet Elisha. Miracle always happen when we go forward even in the face of serious discouragement, and despondency.
Your going forward will not only deliver you, and your entire household, but it will be the miracle this nation has been waiting for and that is the truth.
