RELYING FULLY ON THE HOLY SPIRIT

RELYING FULLY ON THE HOLY SPIRIT

Life can truly be meaningless and what makes us wise is living a life fully led by the Holy Spirit. The Book of Ecclesiastes 12:13 (AMP), concludes with this scripture “All has been heard; the end of the matter is: FEAR GOD (REVERE AND WORSHIP HIM, KNOWING THAT HE IS) AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, FOR THIS IS THE WHOLE OF MAN (THE FULL, ORIGINAL PURPOSE OF HIS CREATION, THE OBJECT OF GOD’S PROVIDENCE, THE ROOT OF CHARACTER, THE FOUNDATION OF ALL HAPPINESS, THE ADJUSTMENT OF ALL INHARMONIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES AND CONDITIONS UNDER THE SUN) AND THE WHOLE (DUTY) FOR EVERY MAN.”

The original purpose of God for creating us is to fear Him and keep His commandments because when we do this we will live a fulfilled life on this side of heaven. As we discussed the Book of Ecclesiastes at fellowship, we realised that at the end of it all, Christianity is about believing in God and trusting in Him fully with our lives. We learnt that when we pray, all we are doing is asking God to become involved in whatever we are praying about and because we have faith He hears us, we are rest assured that whatever the outcome, God is in control. We are assured that even if things don’t go as we planned, because we have prayed to Him, He knows what He is doing and whatever the outcome, it is for our good, even if it is not what we hoped for. We learnt in the Book of Ecclesiastes that trials of life will happen to good people while bad people will seem to have everything going for them. We also learnt that oppressors will seem to be in charge of everything while evil will seem to triumph over good. Living a godly life seems meaningless because doing evil without any consequences seems to be the order of the day. These are all lies, lies, lies and this is what the enemy wants us to believe, lies!!!!!!

The only way we as Christians will survive this world is to put our trust completely in the Word of God. There is no way we can survive as Christians in our own ability. The enemy always tries to convince us that the wisdom we have is enough. We are always tempted to rely on our ability and our knowledge to tackle situations but what we have learnt by studying this Book is that we must never rely on what we think we know. The enemy wants us to forget that it is only through Jesus Christ we can do all things and it is He that gives us the power to do all things perfectly; and if we want to be true to ourselves we will find he is succeeding, as a lot of us get caught up in using our own wisdom to try to find solutions in times of trouble instead of going to God first.
What we see is never the full picture, a lot of things are happening behind the scenes to cause what we can see, but the enemy never wants us to think that way. He always wants us to believe that what we can see is all that is happening so we react using our limited wisdom to tackle the problem. But a wise person (a person led by the Spirit) will immediately know that there is a bigger picture we cannot see and so that person will immediately turn to God for directions. Our wisdom comes from God, not from man, so we must always turn to God for solutions to every problem. A habit we really must try to cultivate as Christians is to turn each day over to Him first thing in the morning, that way we have introduced God into our day and we are assured that He is with us no matter what we may encounter during the day. This is ONE KEY thing I believe all the members of the fellowship will take away from the study of this Book. TO BE WISE AND LIVE A VICTORIOUS LIFE, YOU MUST INTRODUCE GOD INTO EVERYTHING YOU DO.

Let us be wise children of the Highest God. Wise people keep company with the wise and the Holy Spirit is the wisest person I know. Jesus Christ knew what He was doing when He said He was leaving us with the Holy Spirit who will guide us and teach us all things. The Holy Spirit is to reveal all things to us and guide us into all truth. As we face each new day, let us remember that we need Him to be able to see behind the scenes, We need Him to tell us which way to go. He knows all things and only tells us the Mind of Christ in all situations. Let us stop relying on what we think we know or what “man” will do, instead let us learn to rely fully on the Holy Spirit to guide us every step of the way. With Him our testimony will always be that of victory never of defeat in every area of our lives.
READ YOUR BIBLE, PRAY EVERYDAY AND BE SENSITIVE TO THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IF YOU WANT TO LIVE A VICTORIOUS LIFE THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN.
