Victory is Assured!

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie-indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.”
Revelations 3: 8-9

History will always remember Mary Jackson as the first black female Engineer to work in NASA. (National Aeronautic and Space Administration) However, her rise to that position was not without contention. Early in her career, after intriguing her supervisors with her outstanding mathematical capacities, Jackson was sent to work for then acclaimed Jewish Engineer Karzimeiez Czernerki. He noticed her potential, and pushed her to apply for an engineering role since she was already working in that capacity. However, the institution opposed her. Burying her in a pile of bureaucracy, they offered one excuse after another.

When it finally seemed like a window of opportunity had opened, Jackson learned she was required to take an additional course which her superiors had been exempted from. The problem with this was that it was offered in an all white university. She had to contend with the Virginia State legislation to gain the right as the only black woman to sit in the class. Again, she won. At every bend, and with each contention, Jackson refused to budge. She looked the oppositions in the face until they became the very points of her celebration.

Opportunities are generally divine, yet, contentions are a definite part of the equation. If anyone had experience in this area, it was Paul. Writing to the Corinthian church, he asked for prayers, bearing in mind that the door divinely opened to him was greatly contended. Another interesting case was that of the children of Israel. They had a clear word of deliverance from God. Yet Pharaoh refused to release them. However, the good news is, as long as God has spoken, victory is assured.

Early this year, God gave us a word in Revelations 3:8-9. The door has been opened. There might be contradictions and seeming setbacks. But the Lord has spoken. Our responsibility is to stand on the word. Regardless of the contention, victory is assured. Your strength may be small. Your faith may be tested. You may feel attacked, opposed and resisted, but I say to you again, victory is assured. Because God has spoken, the door is open, in Jesus name.

Interestingly, God is in the business of silencing your contenders. He showed Himself mighty in Egypt, such that Pharaoh, who heavily resisted the Israelites, ended up destroyed for it. The same will happen for you. Those who contend with you will come to the realization that God has favoured you. What then should be your attitude? Simple! Rejoice. Refuse to grumble or worry. Encourage yourself in God. Put His word in your mouth. Speak life. You will surely testify. This month and going forward, God will always be glorified in your situation. His light will never stop shinning on you. The things that caused tears and heartache will become a source of joy. Expect double honour in the place of shame. Expect restoration from every loss. You are next in line for a miracle. Nothing will stop you, in Jesus name.
