An Open Door Has Been Set Before You
8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie-indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.”
On the 31st of December on our way to church, my five-year- old son said that 2017 was going to be a year of new things. We all echoed Amen to that prophetic word. So the following day, after their dad had announced our theme for the year in church, the two boys were arguing over the theme of the year and wanted me to settle the matter. The six-year- old said it is our year of open doors and the five-year- old insisted that it is our year of new things. So I asked the younger one what he heard in church and he agreed that he heard the year of open doors but he had read a card from Bishop Mike before then which said it was our year of new things. I was quite surprised that he read that and kept it in mind. I then explained that it is our year of open doors and when we enter the open doors there are lots of new things. The conclusion? It is our year of open doors where we get new things.
I want to encourage you this day to hold this word in your heart, just like my little boys did. One beautiful thing about children is that whatever you tell them, they accept without questioning. For us to see the anchor scripture quoted above manifested in our lives, we need to keep this word in our heart, mouth and ear. Most importantly, we should accept and believe with childlike trust that it will be to us just as God has said.
You may be wondering how this prophetic word would be fulfilled in your life. Your part is just to believe and let God do the rest. Remember when angel Gabriel visited Mary and gave her the good news! She asked him how it would come to pass, considering that she knew no man; but he told her the power of the Most High would overshadow her and she would conceive (Luke 1:26-35). So, relax because He is aware of your strength; trust Him and He will do His own part.
I truly believe that it will be a year of open doors for everyone reading this article. Open doors will mean new levels, new things-things which you have been waiting on the Lord for will come to pass. We are in a season where even the old things will appear new. And like our Pastor said, God has exalted our horn like the unicorn and has anointed us with fresh oil. There will be no staleness in anything that concerns you because God is loading you with fresh ideas. Does this not sound exciting?
You know the feelings you get when you are excited about something new; you would even want to share it with your loved ones. Even in times when you experience difficulties, you will still be excited because you are convinced in your spirit that the difficulty is announcing an arrival of something new. May every minute of our lives be exciting this year.
