“Speaking to one another in Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” (NKJV)
“And your hearts will overflow with a joyful song to the Lord Jehovah. Keep speaking to each other with Words of Scripture, singing the Psalms with praises and spontaneous songs given by the Spirit!” (TPT)

I want to share some of the Words of Scripture I love and speak to myself whenever I feel the need to encourage myself in the Lord. The Word of God is powerful and alive, healing the soul and reviving the spirit, no matter how strong the wind is blowing or how powerful the storm is raging, just speak the Word of God and keep confessing till the storm is over.

Let us look at some of my own weapons for my spirit when the storms of life come my way:

“Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, when the Lord has not commanded it?” Lamentations 3:37 NKJV
I particularly like this scripture because it reminds me God can see the storm I am going through and allowed it to happen for a reason. If God is in it with me, then I am assured the storm will pass and I will be left standing victorious at the end of it. He is the God that is with me when I pass through rough waters and does not allow me to drown when I go through rivers of difficulty. The mere fact that nothing happens to me unless He allows it, brings a lot of comfort to my soul when I am passing through any trial or tribulation.
“How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?….Behold, I have received a command to bless. He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” Numbers 23:8,20 NKJV
I particularly love these Scriptures because they prove nothing is greater than its creator. Balaam was a very powerful and wicked prophet (In Nigerian terms a “Babalawo”) and was well known to everyone, so much so that he moved in royal circles. The King of Moab, Balak, employed him to curse the Israelites, and he was ready to do so until he realised that The King of kings and the Creator of the universe (the One who created him) was on the side of the Israelites. These scriptures encourage me because I know anyone who wants to attack me or mine cannot succeed because that person is actually trying to attack the One who created them. My Bible tells me God sits in the heavens and laughs at their vain attempts and when He is ready, He will arise and show them Who He is and Who I am to Him. Jesus Christ was attacked, He was tried, He suffered betrayal, people disappointed Him and so I am in very good company.
We need to learn to speak to each other and ourselves with Words of Scripture and let hope arise in our hearts when it seems storms are raging all around us.

Enjoy your life and keep hope alive!!!!! Everything will end in PRAISE!!!!
